Should my event be professionally videotaped?
How important is it to remember your event or wedding day? What would it be like to view a videotape of your parent's - or even your grandparent's wedding? One of the biggest regrets couples and corporations have after their wedding or event is over is the decision not to have a professionally produced video. When the day is done and the cake has been eaten and the music is faded, the only thing that will remain of your wondrous event is your video. Photographs are essential and do have a place in your event, but they're one dimensional. You can't hear your guest speakers, or your wedding vows, or see the handshakes or tears and emotions of the day. No other medium preserves the "moment" like video. Moments fade with time, but your video will last a lifetime.
Why a professional?

Videos that are shot by friends or relatives end up falling woefully short for a number of reasons. Poor audio, inadequate planning and coordination, use of only one camera, shaky or out-of-focus images, and the inability to properly edit all the footage together. We will bring the right knowledge and equipment to get the job done. We will have proper respect for the rules of your event, and we will be focused on creating a work of art that you'll enjoy watching for the rest of your life. Asking a friend, relative or even a guest to make the "official" video of your event is considered bad manners by many. What if the video is just plain awful? The relationship will be forever tarnished.

Will the videography be obtrusive?

It is a common misconception that professional videography is obtrusive. Gone are the days of bulky cameras that needed banks of lights to produce useable images. We use state-of-the-art professional cameras that produce images and video in less than ideal event situations. You'll probably notice that photography has considerably more impact on the nature and flow of your event than video. With video, there is no need to use flash, there is no noisy clicking, no posing and there are no demands that you "smile" all the time.

What type of equipment do you use?

Specifically, we use Sony HDR-FX1 and Cannon XL1 cameras for videotaping. The outstanding picture quality and mobility of these two professional cameras make them perfect for event production. They can capture video film with the light from one candle. With sound being 50% of the picture, we use Senheiser wireless microphones that have excellent sound quality. Our equipment list expands to podium lighting, an 81" screen, AXE Sound Equipment, DVR 550 H DVD Player, and BenQ projectors. In post-production, we use Adobe Premiere Pro in conjunction with Adobe Audition and Adobe Encore and Photoshop. What does all that mean? It means we use the latest and best wedding video equipment available in the world. It means that you will see superior picture and hear crystal clear sound. It means we don't have to worry about our equipment at the event. We always carry extra cameras and equipment with us. We can concentrate on production a work of art that you will love to watch and be proud to share with others.

What style of coverage do you provide?

Most "average" videographers will offer the usual FULL pre-ceremony, ceremony and reception coverage. The length of such a final edited video can be as much as two or even three hours. How often do you want to sit through such a video? We offer highly innovative and creation options to our clients. They're the "biography" and "documentary" style of video. Instead of just hiring a technician to record literally everything from your day, we can recreate the emotion of your once-in-a-lifetime event. We have pushed aside the old rules that say "image is everything" and couples want special effects and glitz in their videos. We rely on classic, old-school techniques that permit a "true reflection" of the event while still allowing the video to be watched by friends and relatives alike. We also produce personal portraits that allow a more intimate approach in the making of your event movie. We interview you before and after the wedding day. You'll be able to talk not only about each other and how you met, but what you remember from the wedding day and even what your hopes are for the future.
